The 1990 California State Superintendent of Public Instruction election occurred on June 5, 1990.[1] The incumbent, Bill Honig, defeated his opponents in the first round by receiving a majority of the vote, so no runoff election occurred.[2] The office is officially nonpartisan, so no political party is listed on the ballot for the candidates.[3]
