From Proto-Turkic *yẹtmiĺ, but it seems to have merged with Salar yide (“seven”) in the Jiezi dialect which is spoken in Jishi, the county seat of Xunhua Salar Autonomous County. Oldest records and dialects point yi(t)miş or ye(t)muş.
