Inherited from Proto-Berber *əgur (“to walk”).

Cognate with Northern Saharan Berber ǧur, igur, uyur (“to walk, to go”), Beni Snous yyur ("to walk"), Tachawit uggur (“to walk”), Nefusa ugur (“to go”), and possibly Tashelhit maggar, muggur (“to meet”).
