Inherited from Medieval Tashelhit تاڢوكت (tafukt, sun), from Proto-Berber *ta-ʔfuḱ-t (sun, sunlight)[1], from *ʔ-f-w (to be bright, to shine) (whence Tashelhit faw (to be luminous)).
