Etymology
Learned borrowing from Old Uyghur 𐾀𐽳𐽶𐽴 (twyz /töz/), from Proto-Turkic *töŕ. Reintroduced to the language during 1940s as a replacement for cevher, a borrowing from Arabic.[1]
