      An old locomotive and six obsolete coaches were bought from the then Southern Railway, re-lettered "United Coast Lines," and wrecked by being drawn into a steam lorry loaded with cement at Spains Crossing, near Herriard, on the now-abandoned Basingstoke-Alton line.
