  1. (soccer) The first goal scored during the first half of extra time, giving victory to the scoring side at the end of the half-time, if this rule is in effect and the scoring side is leading.

Usage notes

  • Part of the official FIFA rules from 2002 to 2004. Both the silver goal and golden goal rules are no longer used.
