Etymology
From Latin septuāgintā + -illion. Coined by Alfred Holbrook, a principal of South-Western Normal School in Lebanon, Ohio, in 1859 (see the quotation).

- Unlike most auction sales delinquent tax property is sold to the lowest instead of the highest bidder. The man who will pay the taxes for the smallest portion of the property in question is the successful man, and the figure at which the bidders sometimes bid in the property is enough to cause the treasurer and his accountants to become fit subjects for the insane hospital. County Treasurer Cropper has a list of the limits to which the bidders may go, carried down past the vigintillions and even decamadillions.
