Etymology
Leer reconstructs the basic Proto-Athabaskan form of this numeral as Proto-Athabaskan *na̓ˑd(ə)[1], with the k'a element representing an extension of the original form. Kari argues instead for a root *tiq' with the addition of the iterative prefix *no-. In either case, cognate with Ahtna nadaeggi and Navajo naaki.
