Etymology

Deletion of /h/ as /h/ is often silent[1] and antepenultimate neutralisation of kasihan similar to how the antepenultimate syllables of Sanskrit कपाल (kapāla) and Proto-Malayic *sumaŋət were neutralised to [ə] to form Malay kepala and semangat.[2]
