Albanian

Etymology

Borrowed from German Gepäck (luggage, baggage). The semantics are an extension of baggage (in general) to baggage (of a car); cf. the same development within the Serbo-Croatian cognate.

This is one of a number of German borrowings in Kosovar Albanian introduced by returning Yugoslavia-era Gastarbeiter.[1]
