dibahagi-bahagikan
Malay
Etymology
From the passive form of membahagi-bahagikan, from di- + bahagi-bahagi + -kan. The root is the reduplication of bahagi.
Pronunciation
- Hyphenation: di‧ba‧ha‧gi‧-‧ba‧ha‧gi‧kan
Verb
dibahagi-bahagikan
- to be divided up and distributed; to be apportioned or partitioned out (especially to multiple recipients or into many parts).
- Bantuan makanan dibahagi-bahagikan kepada semua mangsa banjir di pusat pemindahan. ― Food aid was distributed to all flood victims at the evacuation center.
- Tanah pusaka itu dibahagi-bahagikan mengikut wasiat yang telah ditinggalkan. ― The inherited land was partitioned out according to the will that was left behind.
Usage notes
- The reduplication of the root word `bahagi` adds a sense of thoroughness, repetition, or distribution to multiple recipients, which is stronger and more specific than the non-reduplicated forms dibahagi or dibahagikan.
