dardhahanë
Albanian
Etymology
A blend of dardagan (“in shambles, in ruins”) and the ending -hanë common to many buildings, like kasaphanë, berberhanë, kovaçhanë. The shift to /ð/ might have occurred by contamination with dardhë (“pear”) or dardhan (“peasant, farmer”), similarly to what happened to bardhak.
