     If ${\displaystyle A^{*}A\geq AA^{*}}$ or, equivalently, ${\displaystyle |\!|Ah|\!|\geq |\!|A^{*}h|\!|}$ for all vectors ${\displaystyle h}$, then ${\displaystyle A}$ is said to be a hyponormal operator. An operator ${\displaystyle A}$ is said to be cohyponormal if ${\displaystyle A^{*}}$ is hyponormal.
