Borrowed from French cœliaquie, English coeliac, German Zöliakie, Polish celiakia, Russian целиаки́я (celiakíja), Spanish celiaquía, Italian celiachìa, Catalan celiaquia, Portuguese celíaco; all derived from Latin coeliac|us, ~a, ~um, from Ancient Greek κοιλῐᾰκ|ός, ~ή, ~όν (koilĭăk|ós, ~ḗ, ~ón).
