Etymology 1

Derived from Greek σάκος (sákos), from Ancient Greek σάκκος (sákkos, “sack, bag; sackcloth”), most likely from Semitic. A formation with the enforcement of the fricative ‘s’ into an affricate, similar to ca.[1]
