Etymology

Probably from Proto-Germanic *burjōnΔ…. Akin to Gothic πŒ²πŒ°πŒ±πŒ°πŒΏπ‚πŒΎπ‰πŒΈπŒΏπƒ (gabaurjōþus, β€œpleasure”). Krause & Slocum argue that the ending may reflect the Proto-Germanic nominative singular ending *-az.[1]
