Albanian

Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *blöra-, from Pre-Proto-Albanian *blōra-, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰleh₁-r-ós, from the root *bʰleh₁- (blue, green, yellow). Cognate to Latin flōrus (golden yellow, reddish-yellow)[1] and Proto-Germanic *blēwaz (blue, dark). Possibly borrowed from Proto-Celtic *blaros (gray),[2] compare blár.
