First attested in 1820. From biblio- +‎ -phile (from Ancient Greek βιβλίον (biblíon, “paper, document, tablet”) + φίλος (phílos, “beloved”)), probably after French bibliophile.^[1]

bibliophile (plural bibliophiles)

1. One who loves books.
