Inherited from Proto-Berber *əβḍu (“to divide, to be divided”)^[1].

Cognate with Central Atlas Tamazight and Kabyle bḍu (“to divide”), Tarifit bḍa (“to divide”), Tuareg əbḍu (“to be separated”), Northern Saharan Berber bḍa (“to be divorced”), Tetserret bḍu (“to split up”), and Zenaga ūḏ̣ih (“to be divorced”).

   allahu akbar, a ddunit, tkʷfrm, ar ukʷan taṭṭa bnadm waxxa suln.

   by God, the world is a heathen, it divides people although they're still alive.
