Etymology

From an unknown element +‎ -phobia. The first element may be from a- (without) +‎ Ancient Greek θαζός (thazós, seated, see LSJ) +‎ Ancient Greek ἀγορά (agorá, public meeting place) (cf. seat at the table), or a "pseudo-intellectual" coinage as with coulrophobia.
