Etymology

From an unknown element +‎ -phobia. The first element may be from a- (“without”) +‎ Ancient Greek θαζός (thazós, “seated”, see LSJ) +‎ Ancient Greek ἀγορά (agorá, “public meeting place”) (cf. seat at the table), or a "pseudo-intellectual" coinage as with coulrophobia.
