Etymology
Literally, “restaurant area”. Suggested by the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF) in 2003 as an alternative to the anglicism food-court, and adopted by the Commission d'enrichissement de la langue française (CELF, Commission on the Enrichment of the French Language) of France in 2007.
