     Because the pads that I had bought in Germany had finally ran out, I wanted to go and buy them in a store. One of my friends told me that, because I and the salespeople of the nearest store to my home knew each other well, I should buy them from a different store. Why? In my friend's opinion, menstruation was a shameful phenomenon, and this ought to be secret. I went to a distant store and bought some large menstrual pads. On the way back, I happened across the friend who had advised me to go elsewhere. The absorbents were in a clear plastic bag. He said, “Oh! Why do you have those out in the open!? You are shameless!”
