    From a- +‎ borne (boundary), from Old French bodne, from Early Medieval Latin bodina, a word of unknown ultimate origin, but possibly from Proto-Indo-European *bʰudʰmḗn (bottom, base), see also Proto-Celtic *bundos.[1]
