Usage notes

In Kabyle orthography, traditionally represents the affricate /d͡z/, paired with ţ for /t͡s/. Because the affricates are morphologically conditioned, the INALCO standard does not use , instead representing the underlying consonant (e.g. zz) for pan-dialectal consistency.
