1. Synonym of Lake Tanganyika, a lake in Africa.
2. A former British mandate and territory and, between 1961 and 1964, an independent country in East Africa which became most of Tanzania.
3. A province (Tanganyika Province) in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Capital: Kalemie. It borders into the lake.
