Partial calque of Korean 송도갑(松島岬) (Songdogap), from the Revised Romanization of Korean 송도 (songdo) and 갑 (gap), from Sino-Korean 松島岬, from 松 (“pine tree or pine trees”), 島 (“island or islands”), and 岬 (“cape, headland”).
