Proto-Tai
Etymology
The Proto-Tai form *C̬.qɤmᴬ was reconstructed by Pittayaporn (2009), which considered Tai langueges, Proto-Kam-Sui *kam¹, Proto-Hlai *C.ɦɤːm and Proto-Kra *kəmᴬ as good candidates for true Kra-Dai cognates.[1]
Before Pittayaporn's study, the Proto-Tai form had been reconstructed as *xemᴬ¹ by Li (1977).[2]
