*dakʷ'- +‎ *-ay. The root is cognate with Proto-Agaw *dəɣʷar-, whence Awngi [script needed] (dəɣʷarí), Blin dəxʷara, Xamtanga [script needed] (dəxʷara), Qimant dəɣʷära.[1]
