Etymology
Uncertain. Possibly related to *𑀨𑀼𑀘𑁆𑀘 (*phucca, “defective”) and Sanskrit फक्क (phakka, “crippled”) and बण्ड (baṇḍá, “maimed”). Part of the Indo-Aryan "defective" group of words. Cognate with Kashmiri [script needed] (phrika), [script needed] (phyokᵘ).
