Etymology
Inherited from Proto-Slavic *vidla.
Reconstructed based on Estonian vigel (“pitchfork”)[1][2], originating from Old Pskovian, where the most important feature was reflex *dl > гл (gl), compared to typical Eastern Old Novgorodian *dl > л (l).[3] Compare with Old East Slavic вила (vila), Old Polish widły pl.
