Balanophoreae

Translingual

Etymology

Balanophora +‎ -eae. The family name was adopted before the taxonomic code was changed to require the ending -aceae for all plant families and to make -eae only valid for tribes. All usage by taxonomists since that change refers to the family as the Balanophoraceae.
