-ssõ

Votic
Alternative forms
- -issõ, -ussõ
Etymology
From Proto-Finnic *-t'ak (*-de-) (reflexive verb suffix), with -s- analogically levelled to the consonant stem from the past tense forms. Compare Ingrian -issa.
Suffix
-ssõ (front vowel harmony variant -sse, unreduced form -ssa, unreduced front vowel harmony variant -ssä)
- Forms reflexive verbs.
Conjugation
The -s- is only present in the consonant stem. Vowel stem inflection is like that of vasatõ (i.e. the final stem vowel is morphophonologically lengthened). See the inflection of laskõssõ for an example (compare it with that of the base verb laskõa).
