-slop
English
Etymology
Back-formation from slop (“content produced and consumed mindlessly; low-quality food; [from 2024] junk output from generative AI”). Sense 2 derived from goyslop (“slop promoted by Jews for consumption among gentiles”).
Suffix
-slop
- (Internet slang, derogatory) Denotes something of low-quality or low-effort.
- (Internet slang, derogatory, sometimes proscribed) Denotes an attribute of, or association to, something which is undesirable, or is seen as desirable but should not be.
Usage notes
- Due to the origins of sense 2, use of the suffix, where exaggeration in the case of sense 1 might be indistinguishable from sense 2, is sometimes discouraged entirely.
