Etymology

A combination of the verb suffix -ire with ho, first person singular present indicative of avere. This traces back to a Vulgar Latin periphrastic construction of forming the future using the infinitive of the verb + habeō, e.g. seguirò, from Vulgar Latin *sequīre habeō.
