Suffix
-я́чка • (-jáčka) f (variant -ачка)
- feminine of -як (-jak)
- (colloquial) forms feminine nouns of both animacies
- вертіти (vertity, “to twist, to twirl”) + -ячка (-jačka) → вертя́чка inan or animal (vertjáčka, “coenurosis or whirligig beetle”)
Usage notes
- This suffix does not form the feminine equivalents of masculine agent nouns ending in -яч (-jač) (see category). Such nouns are formed by the addition of -ка (-ka, feminine-equivalent suffix) to the masculine noun in question.
