-яція

From Latin -ātiō, an alternative form of -tiō. Parsable as -я (-ja) +‎ -ція (-cija).

1. -ation

• Frequently added to Latinate verbs ending in -юва́ти (-juváty), where it replaces the entire suffix. It is often difficult to tell native Ukrainian formations of this sort from those where a Latinate foreign noun ending in English -ation, French -ation, Italian -azione, etc. was borrowed directly.
