Etymology

π’‚— (en, β€œlord”) +β€Ž π’†  (ki, β€œplace”) +β€Ž π’„­ (du₁₀, dug₃ /⁠dug⁠/, β€œgood”), literally β€œlord of the good place”. Based on the alternative spelling with 𒆕 (du₃) some have proposed an alternative interpretation as β€œEnki's creation”.
