    1. (now only Yanbian, archaic in the Koreas) synonym of 튀르키예 (Twireukiye, Turkey (a country in Europe and Asia)).

    Usage notes

    In South Korean media sources, 튀르키예 (Twireukiye) or 터키 (Teoki) gained popularity over 토이기(土耳其) (Toigi) around 1967, whereas in North Korea, this term was officially replaced by 뛰르끼예 (Ttwireukkiye) in 1998.
