Usage notes

Although '카레' is the only term recognised by the Standard Korean Language Dictionary, a number of speakers in South Korea distinguish between the varieties of curry.

'커리' is commonly referred to Indian, Southeast Asian, or Western variations, whereas '카레' is referred to Korean or Japanese variations and also functions as a general term for all varieties.
