From Proto-Koreanic *anok (“woman”)

Probably a borrowing by Standard Korean from a dialectal form that lacked lenition of final */-k/; cf. Gyeongsang dialect 뜨락 (tteurak) for 뜰 (tteul), Middle Korean ᄠᅳᆶ (Yale: ptùlh).
