From 싱글 (singgeul) + 벙글 (beonggeul). The meaning of an internet slang is popularized in the 싱글벙글 지구촌 갤러리, its posts about random topics and similar ones of which titles are prefixed with the word of the South Korean online forum DCInside. See also 훌쩍훌쩍 (huljjeokhuljjeok) (an ideophone meaning "sobbingly") which is used in posts concerning a topic which is considered as sad as a slang with a similar purpose in the very website.
