    Noun

    국가장 • (gukgajang) (hanja 國家葬)

    1. (South Korea) state funeral

    Usage notes

Before 2011, there were two classes of state funeral in South Korea, namely 국장(國葬) (gukjang, literally state funeral) and 국민장(國民葬) (gungminjang, literally citizen's funeral). The two classes were since merged into one single 국가장 (國家葬) (gukgajang, literally state funeral) with the enactment of State Funerals Act (국가장 (gukgajangbeop)).
