Etymology

Blend of (えき) (eki, (train) station) + 弁当(べんとう) (bentō, boxed lunch).

Sex position by analogy with those who sell such lunches from trays or boxes suspended from their shoulders (see image, in particular on the left). Popularized by porn director Tōru Muranishi (村西(むらにし)とおる) and pornstar Chocoball Mukai (チョコボール向井(むかい)).
