Phono-semantic matching of English charm quark, Coined by Chinese physicist, philologist and writer Wang Zhuxi. The character 粲 (càn) (càn, "beautiful; bright; splendid") is derived from the following line in the Classic of Poetry, poem 69 (《詩經·唐風·綢繆》):
