Etymology

Eye dialect of 死ね (shine, “die!”, imperative conjugation of 死ぬ (shinu, “to die”)), visually decomposing the kanji 死 into its lower two constituent parts, using the two separate katakana タ (ta) and ヒ (hi) in place of the kanji. Possibly used to get around automated text filters.
