      グリーン(うえ)半径十数(はんけいじゅうすう)メートルの小宇宙(しょううちゅう)(なに)()こっても不思議(ふしぎ)はない。そこでは(よろこ)び、(かな)しみ、(いか)り、苦悩(くのう)イップスという病気(びょうき)―さまざまなドラマが(えん)じられる。
      Gurīn ue wa hankei jūsū mētoru no shōuchū. Nani ga okotte mo fushigi wa nai. Soko de wa yorokobi, kanashimi, ikari, kunō, ippusu to iu byōki―samazama na dorama ga enjirareru.
      The green is a whole microcosm in a ten-meter radius. Anything can happen there. Joy, sorrow, anger, bitterness, that disease called the yips—all sorts of drama can play out.

      Tsuā sansen rokunenme de hatsushōri o tsukanda nijūnanasai wa gurīn yoko de mimamotta puro nakama no shukufuku ni namida o nijimase, “yatto kateta. Koshō ya ippusu de shīdo ochishita shīzun mo attashi, nagakatta” to kangai ni hitatta.
      In her sixth year on the tour the twenty-seven year old claimed her first victory, moved to tears by the congratulations of other pros watching from beside the green. “I finally won. There were seasons when I lost my seed due to problems like injuries or the yips. It’s been a long time coming,” she declared emotionally.
