Etymology
From ῠ̔μνῳδός (hŭmnōidós, “singing hymns”) + -ῐ́ᾱ (-ĭ́ā), from ῠ̔́μνος (hŭ́mnos, “hymn”) + ᾠδή (ōidḗ), contracted form of ᾰ̓οιδή (ăoidḗ, “song”).
