Maybe a cognate of Mizo rah (“fruit”) according to Schuessler (2007), although Sagart (2002) associates it with Tibetan ཁྲེ (khre, “millet”), which possibly comes from Proto-Sino-Tibetan *khrəj. (“millet, rice”).
