Perhaps from Proto-Turkic *dǖŕ (face) +‎ ᠊ᠰᠦ (-sw /⁠-sü⁠/).[1] Compare Middle Mongol ᠴᠢᠷᠠᠢ (čirai, face) > Uzbek chiroy (appearance) for the semantic development.
